What to Watch: Youn's Kitchen (윤식당) & Youn's Stay
Written by Maddie F. (Mar 5th, 2026)
Looking for something to watch this week? I'm back with another recommendation for you! This time, it's one of my all-time favourite reality shows – Youn's Kitchen. I first discovered this show back in 2018, when I was on a Park Seo-joon binge and found out he was also in some reality shows, and I'm so glad I discovered this one. It's my comfort show and is such an easy watch, and I hope you get to watch it too!

Premise
Youn's Kitchen centres around Youn Yuh-jung (Minari), a legendary Korean actress who is also a very talented chef. She opens a restaurant abroad with the help of some friends – in particular in Season 2 with Lee Seo-jin (Three Meals a Day), Jung Yu-mi (Kim Ji-young: Born 1982) and Park Seo-joon (Fight For My Way). Together, they try to introduce Korean food to their customers, making tweaks to their menu along the way.
While watching the team work together, you also get to see them enjoy their downtime together and explore the town they're in, as well as make friends with the locals.

Season 2
I recommend starting from Season 2 of the show, as the story in this season was the best for me. The team travel to Garachico in Tenerife. It was so interesting to see the locals as well as tourists react to Korean food and be introduced to a variety of dishes, including bibimbap, japchae and kimchi fried rice. Seeing the beautiful scenery of the island mixed with the picturesque restaurant in the town centre made for a lovely watch.
Youn's Stay
If you're looking for more after finishing Youn's Kitchen, try Youn's Stay! This was a spin-off shot in 2021, where the team opened a guesthouse to introduce foreigners who'd lived in Korea for less than a year to hanok-style houses.
In this season, they recruit the help of Choi Woo-shik (Parasite), who slots in perfectly to the team and adds a comedic element to the show.

It's also really nice to watch the interactions between the guests and the team, as they get to spend more time with them than in previous seasons when guests came for dinner.
What to Watch Next?
I'll be trying to post regularly with suggestions for shows and music, so check back to see any new posts over the next few weeks. I hope you enjoy Youn's Kitchen and Youn's Stay as much as I do!
