Tame Impala and K-POP – The Unexpected Collaboration
Written by Maddie F. (Apr 12th, 2026)
With the recent viral success of Dracula featuring Jennie from BLACKPINK, Tame Impala (Kevin Parker) is blending two genres together and introducing many K-POP fans to music they may not have been familiar with before.
But did you know Tame Impala has already had a foot in the K-POP doorway long before this release? Read below to see his previous releases and features.

Dracula – Tame Impala and Jennie
Tame Impala released his fifth studio album, Deadbeat, in October 2025. The album featured Dracula, a song he had previously released as a single. While the song was popular among fans, it wasn't until 2026 that it reached virality.
In February, a remix of Dracula featuring Jennie from BLACKPINK was released, which spread the song to a whole new world of fans. The track quickly climbed the charts and spawned numerous viral trends on social media. With each artist taking a conversational-style verse in the song, it brought out a new element to the track.
Merry Go Round – BTS
BTS had their long-awaited comeback in March 2026, with a full-length album and world tour soon to follow. With numerous features on the album, one of these is a producer credit for Tame Impala.
Merry Go Round features his signature style of echoed drums and dreamlike sounds, but with a K-POP twist. Previously, Parker had mentioned he was intrigued by the K-POP world, so this may be the start of many future collaborations for the artist.

ROCKSTAR – Lisa
While this collaboration may not be as obvious, Tame Impala did collaborate with Lisa on her release of ROCKSTAR (2024). The song samples the track New Person, Same Old Mistakes (2015) by Tame Impala.
The sample serves as the backbone to the song and can be heard throughout. Keen listeners were able to identify the sample immediately. This isn't the only song that shares the sample either—Rihanna also famously covered and reworked the song for her 2016 album ANTI, titling her track Same Ol' Mistakes.

Tame Impala has already worked with three K-POP giants, including representative boy and girl groups in the K-POP scene. Who would you like to see him work with next?
