RESCENE – The K-POP Group Taking over the Charts and Making Headlines in Korea

RESCENE

RESCENE (리센느) are one of the biggest K-pop success stories of 2026. After their debut in 2024 to some attention, they spent over two years slowly building a loyal fanbase before unexpectedly becoming one of the most talked-about girl groups in South Korea this year.

How RESCENE was formed

THE MUZE Entertainment created RESCENE as their first girl group. The group's name combines RE – representing "again" or "rediscovery" and SCENE – symbolising memorable moments and experiences.

Their concept is based around creating "scenes" that leave a lasting impression, with many of their albums and songs using cinematic themes.

They officially debuted on 26 March 2024 with the single album Re:Scene, following a pre-release track called YoYo. Their title song UhUh immediately attracted praise from K-pop fans for its sophisticated production, although commercial success came much later.

Members

RESCENE members

  • Woni (원이) – Leader, Main vocalist
  • Liv (리브) – Main dancer, Vocalist. Known for her elegant performances and expressive dancing.
  • Minami (미나미) – Japanese member, Lead vocalist
  • May (메이) – Vocalist, Rapper
  • Zena (제나) – Youngest member (maknae), Visual, Center

Why are they suddenly becoming so popular?

Considered the face of the group's recent success, member Woni opened a YouTube channel in 2026, where she quickly gained fans due to her down-to-earth nature and natural humour. Being from the countryside in Korea, fans loved to see a normal girl also becoming a K-Pop idol. She currently has over 1 million subscribers on YouTube.

In addition, as more viewers discovered the channel, audiences became attached to all five members rather than just one.

After this success, older songs started climbing the charts. Once public interest exploded, people began revisiting their earlier music. Their 2024 single Love Attack became a rare "sleeper hit," climbing back up Korean streaming charts long after its original release. Several other tracks also experienced renewed popularity as new listeners explored their catalogue.

Pretty Girl

This year, the group released their remake of KARA's "Pretty Girl". It resonated strongly with Korean audiences by blending nostalgia with RESCENE's fresh style. The release earned the group their first music show win, marking a major milestone after more than two years of steady work.

RESCENE debuted from a relatively unknown company and spent years performing at small festivals, local events and university shows. When they finally broke through, many Korean fans celebrated their perseverance. Online discussions often point to this long period of hard work as part of their appeal.

By mid-2026, RESCENE had become one of South Korea's fastest-rising girl groups. Their increased visibility has led to music show wins, brand endorsements, festival appearances and growing international recognition, with many fans and commentators viewing them as a group poised for sustained success rather than a short-lived viral moment.
